The Vintage Baynesfield Hobbies Fair was very well attended on 11th March with 1277 people paying to come in. We had everything from butter making to grinding maize meal, demonstrations of rapier fights to tractor runs, tours through Baynes House to trailer rides. The steam engines were fired up and running as were the water powered engines. The wood crafters were kept very busy teaching visitors, old and young, how to use their collection of antique wood crafting tools. Some new additions included 3 sets of toy trains, all running on their little tracks. We had a group of dog sledding enthusiasts showing us how clever and strong their dogs are.
There were some beautiful vintage and modern cars, all gleaming in the shade of the pecan nut tree avenue. The crafts for sale in the large garden were mostly of a high quality as was the food which was on sale. Our vege man was here as usual and so were the dairy people with their supply of delicious products.
The next event we will have will be Music in May on the 6th May. This is always a very enjoyable outing during the autumn.
